12 Ways to Build Resilience || FEBRUARY 2025 || ISSUE #8

Author of the memoir Destined: A Story of Resilience and Beating the Odds

Dear Reader,

Never give up on yourself.

Destined was officially released to the world on February 4, 2025.

My heart is full with gratitude to have launched Destined in Philadelphia, a city that welcomed me with open arms when I immigrated to the United States in 2001.

Do you know a community college or first-generation Ivy League student who would benefit from receiving a free blog article in my monthly newsletter with tips on learning, reading, writing, or resilience?

I can’t put into words the love and support I felt throughout my week in Philadelphia, from the community members in West Philadelphia at the Blackwell Library, to the students, educators, and staff at Community College of Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania community.

Some photos from the Destined launch week are here.

One key lesson I’ve learned in my journey and shared with students at Community College of Philadelphia during the Destined launch is this.

Never give up on yourself. Because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your family, your community, your country, and the world.

Our lives are interconnected. You don’t know what your life could mean to other people when you keep going.

Order your copy of Destined here. I would love your review of Destined on Amazon. Your review can focus on answering the following question: What stood out to you the most about Destined and why?

In the spirit of resilience, a central theme in Destined, this month I shared 12 ways to build resilience here.

If you find this article helpful, share it with college students and invite them to subscribe to my newsletter here.

Thank you for reading. Wishing you all the best.

Keep going!
